Does a PNG lose quality in a PDF?
No. The tool decodes each PNG and stores its pixels in the PDF with Flate, the same lossless compression a PNG file uses, including PNG's own row filters.
We checked by reading the pixels back out of the PDFs. Every fully opaque pixel matched the PNG exactly, and so did every transparency value.
The one exception is small. A partly transparent pixel, such as the soft edge of a logo, can move by one step out of 255 in a colour channel, because the browser stores those pixels premultiplied.
What happens to a transparent background?
It stays transparent. The PNG's transparency goes into the PDF as a soft mask, so the page shows through wherever the PNG was clear, and a half transparent area stays half transparent.
On a white page, in a viewer or on paper, that looks white. Placed on a coloured slide or in a design tool, the clear areas show what is behind them.
A few old or print tools ignore soft masks. They show the clear areas as white rather than black, because the tool stores white behind them.
Only PNGs keep transparency. Any other image in the same PDF is flattened onto white, since those are saved as JPEG, which has none.
How big will the PDF be?
Close to the PNG. These are three test images, each made into a one page A4 PDF by this tool.

The photo came out slightly smaller than its PNG, the screenshot and the logo about a fifth larger. A small logo carries a mask and a few hundred bytes of PDF structure.
A photograph kept lossless is large whatever holds it. If yours does not need to be, save it as JPEG first and use JPG to PDF, which copies a JPEG in as it is.
Which page size should you pick?
For a diagram or a screenshot that will be read on screen, choose Fit to image. Each page takes the PNG's own proportions and has no border.
For printing, choose A4 or Letter. The PNG is scaled to sit inside the margin you pick, and a wide one gets a landscape page unless you say otherwise.
What happens to your photo?
Your selected photo is processed in your browser, without an image upload to a server. The page may download code and codecs needed for editing.
Save your result before closing the tab; unsaved edits are kept in memory rather than in an online account.
Common questions
Can I put several PNG images in one PDF?
Yes. Choose them all at once or add more later, then use the arrows to set the order. Each PNG becomes one page of a single PDF.
Can I mix PNG and JPG files in one PDF?
Yes. Each PNG goes in lossless with its transparency, and each upright JPEG is copied in unchanged. After you create the PDF, the tool says how many went in each way.
Are my PNG files uploaded?
No. Your browser reads the images and writes the PDF, on your own device. There is no server copy to delete afterwards.
