IBPS photo, signature, thumb and declaration size
IBPS wants four scans: a photo, 200 x 230 pixels at 20 to 50 KB; a signature, 140 x 60 at 10 to 20 KB; a left thumb impression, 240 x 240 at 20 to 50 KB; and a handwritten declaration, 800 x 400 at 50 to 100 KB. This tool makes all four.

What does IBPS ask you to upload?
Here are IBPS's own words, from Annexure III of the PO/MT notification. It calls each pixel size preferred, and each KB range a requirement.

Will my scan reach the minimum?
Three of the four, only with a high quality setting. IBPS sets a minimum as well as a maximum, and a small scan of mostly white paper comes out light.
We measured it: test scans made for the purpose, through this page's own editor, at IBPS's preferred sizes.

At the usual quality of 82, every file landed under its minimum. The tool raises the quality until the file clears the minimum, and lowers it again if it passes the maximum, and the meter says when it did.
The signature is the exception. At 140 x 60 it stayed far under 10 KB even at full quality, so keep the shape and enlarge the box; our signature page shows the measurements.
The test scans were drawn for the measurement. A heavier pen or darker paper makes a larger file, so read the meter for your own.
Is the IBPS photo 200 x 230 or 3.5 x 4.5 cm?
Both appear in the notice, and they are not the same shape. 200 x 230 pixels is squarer than a 3.5 x 4.5 cm print.
The upload is judged in pixels, so the tool makes 200 x 230. From a 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo that crops about 11 percent of the height, so leave room above the head.
Keep a print of the same photo. IBPS asks you to paste it on the call letter and bring one more, and advises keeping about 8 copies.
What do I write in the handwritten declaration?
The notice gives the text. Write it in English, in your own hand, in black ink on white paper, and not in capital letters:
"I, (your name), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required."
Scan or photograph the page, then choose Declaration above. It makes 800 x 400 pixels with 200 DPI in the file and keeps it between 50 and 100 KB.
How do I make the left thumb impression?
Press your left thumb on black or blue ink, then on white paper. Scan it at 200 DPI or more, or photograph it straight on in good light.
Choose Left thumb above and crop close to the print. The tool makes 240 x 240 pixels, 3 x 3 cm at 200 DPI, and keeps it between 20 and 50 KB.
No left thumb? The notice lists the order to use instead: right thumb, then a finger of the left hand, and so on, naming it in the upload.
What happens to your photo?
Your selected photo is processed in your browser, without an image upload to a server. The page may download code and codecs needed for editing.
Save your result before closing the tab; unsaved edits are kept in memory rather than in an online account.
Common questions
What is the IBPS photo size in KB?
20 to 50 KB, at 200 x 230 pixels preferred, in the PO/MT notification of 30 June 2026. The tool keeps the photo inside that range, raising the quality if the file comes out light.
Why is my IBPS signature under 10 KB?
Because 140 x 60 is only 8,400 pixels, and a signature is mostly white paper. Our test signature reached 3.3 KB at full quality. Keep the 7:3 shape and make the box larger.
Does IBPS take a live photo as well?
Yes. After the uploaded photo, the form captures a live one by webcam, or by phone after you scan a QR code on screen. Take it in good light against a light background.
Do these sizes apply to IBPS Clerk and RRB exams too?
We read only the PO/MT-XVI notification, so check the notice for your own exam before you upload. The sizes on this page are that notice's.
