NEET photo, signature and thumb impression size
NEET (UG) 2026 took three uploads: a passport size photo at 10 to 200 KB, a signature at 10 to 100 KB, and finger and thumb impressions, for which the bulletin gives two ranges. It also captured a live photo. The postcard photo was not uploaded; you bring prints. The tool makes all three.

What does NEET ask you to upload?
Here is the 2026 bulletin as it states it, with the pages each rule came from. The 2027 bulletin was not out when we read this, so check it when it is.

What changed from the 2025 bulletin?
Most NEET photo guides still describe 2025's form. Set side by side, the two bulletins differ like this:

Do you upload a postcard size photo?
Not in 2026. The 2025 bulletin asked for a postcard size photo upload at 10 to 200 KB; the 2026 bulletin's upload list has no postcard photo in it.
It still wants the prints. Keep 4 to 6 postcard size, 4 x 6 inch colour photos with a white background, and bring one to the exam centre.
What is the live photo?
A photo the form takes while you fill it in. Switch on your camera or connect a webcam; with neither, scan the QR code beside the form with a phone or tablet.
Sit against a light background in good light, with your face 80 percent visible, ears showing, and no mask.
NTA matches the live photo with your Aadhaar record. If they do not match, the bulletin asks for an attested certificate with a certified photo instead.
What size are the finger and thumb impressions?
The bulletin gives two answers. Page 16 says JPG or JPEG between 10 and 200 KB. Page 17, under the same heading, says the file must be between 50 and 300 KB.
A file between 50 and 200 KB meets both sentences. The tool aims under 200 KB and shows the size. If it reads under 50 KB, switch to Pixels and set a larger width.
Include the fingers and thumbs of both hands, as the bulletin asks. The tool keeps the sheet's proportions rather than cropping it to a box.
What size in pixels?
NTA does not say, for any upload. The bulletin gives file sizes, a format, and what the photo must show.
So the tool's boxes are ours. The photo starts at 3.5 x 4.5 cm, India's passport photo size, which is 413 x 531 pixels at 300 DPI. The signature starts at 6.0 x 2.0 cm, 709 x 236 pixels.
80 percent of the photo should be your face, so crop in close before you set the size. The crop tool keeps its frame when you switch back to pixels.
Which photos do you need on exam day?
The same passport size photo you uploaded, pasted on the attendance sheet, and one postcard size colour photo with a white background.
The bulletin says to use one photo throughout: upload, exam centre, counselling and admission. Print from the file you upload.
What happens to your photo?
Your selected photo is processed in your browser, without an image upload to a server. The page may download code and codecs needed for editing.
Save your result before closing the tab; unsaved edits are kept in memory rather than in an online account.
Common questions
What is the NEET photo size in KB?
10 to 200 KB, in JPG or JPEG, in the 2026 bulletin. The same range as 2025. The bulletin gives no pixel size, so choose any clear passport size photo that lands in that range.
What is the NEET signature size?
10 to 100 KB, JPG or JPEG, in the 2026 bulletin. The 2025 bulletin said 10 to 50 KB, so older guides quote a lower ceiling. No pixel size is given.
Can I wear glasses in the NEET photo?
Only if you wear them regularly, the 2026 bulletin says. It also rules out Polaroid and computer-generated photos.
Can I correct a wrong photo after submitting?
No. The 2026 bulletin says the correction facility will not be given for the photo, signature or impressions. Check each file before you upload it.
Does the photo have to be in colour?
Not in 2026: the bulletin allows colour or black and white, against a white background. The 2025 bulletin asked for colour. The postcard prints for the exam centre are still colour.
