A4 is 210 x 297 mm, or 8.27 x 11.69 inches. At 300 DPI that is 2480 x 3508 pixels, which this tool makes, with 300 DPI saved in the file so it prints at A4 size. A phone or camera photo loses a strip to the crop, because A4 is narrower than either.

What is the 210 x 297 mm print used for?
A4 is the standard paper size almost everywhere outside North America, where Letter, 8.5 x 11 inches, is usual instead.
At 300 DPI it needs 8.7 megapixels. A 12 MP phone photo has enough; a picture saved from a website usually does not, and prints soft.

How many pixels is 210 x 297 mm?
It depends on the DPI, the number of pixels printed per inch. The tool uses 300, the usual figure for a photo print, and saves it in the file. Change it beside the size fields.

What gets cropped, and why nothing is stretched
A photograph is almost never the shape you are asking for.
The image is scaled until it fills the box and the overflow is then taken off the long edges, evenly from both sides.
The alternative is stretching, which leaves faces and straight lines visibly wrong, so this tool never does it.
The fields show millimetres, centimetres or inches as well as pixels. Type a print size in any of them and the pixels follow at the DPI you chose.

How many pixels is A4?
2480 x 3508 at 300 DPI, the usual figure for print. At 150 DPI it is 1240 x 1754, and at 600 DPI 4961 x 7016.

How much of my photo is cut off?
A4 is narrower than a photo. A 3024 x 4032 phone photo is scaled to 2631 x 3508, and 151 pixels come off the sides.
A 4000 x 6000 camera photo is scaled to 2480 x 3720 and loses 212 pixels from the top and bottom.
Can I make it landscape A4?
Yes. The page opens portrait, 210 mm wide. Type 297 in the width and 210 in the height, and the tool makes 3508 x 2480 pixels instead, still at 300 DPI.
Will it print edge to edge?
Only on a printer that prints without a border. Most home printers keep a margin of a few millimetres, so they shrink the page or trim the edges. Choose borderless printing if your printer offers it.
